This is David Stiger's personal site. Here's what it collects and what happens to it. I don't sell or rent personal information, and the site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

Contact form

If you send a message I store what you enter (first and last name, email, phone if given, subject and message) and email a copy to myself so I can read and reply (messages flagged as spam are stored for review but not emailed).

Technical data and spam protection

With each message the site records your IP address, approximate country, browser user agent and referring page to detect spam and to limit how fast one person can submit. I delete spam-flagged messages after 30 days, and remove the IP address, user agent and referrer from stored messages after 90 days.

Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated script, is sending it. When you scroll to or start using the form, your browser loads Turnstile from challenges.cloudflare.com and runs a quick check that is usually invisible; now and then it may ask you to tick a box. Cloudflare processes the challenge, which involves technical information about your browser and device such as your IP address, to tell people from bots. Turnstile doesn't see what you type into the form and isn't used for advertising. When you submit, the site sends the one-time result of the check and your IP address to Cloudflare to confirm it. Details are in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Because of this check, the form needs JavaScript.

Where it's stored and who can see it

Messages are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and in my email. Only I have access.
